Deuteronomy 18 prohibited Israel from engaging in occult practices and laid down the promise of future prophets from God to provide instruction for His people. In the New Covenant church, God has given us the Holy Spirit who empowers God's people by blessing them with various spiritual gifts, including the gift of prophecy.
